Cultivating Your Young Professionals: A Note

A note from Tom Baldrige, President & CEO of the Lancaster Chamber

Workforce.

With that simple word, I am confident I have your attention.

Fact is, the challenges we are facing with the current workforce situation are having a real economic impact on the path to get Lancaster County back to thriving. And the Chamber is offering a variety of ways to help.

One key component is our upcoming “Young Professionals Network Summit: Changemakers,” a hybrid program offered over four days designed to provide professional development to your young professional workforce…and earn you some goodwill and loyalty in the process.

“Changemakers” will equip and inspire your young workforce to drive sustainable, positive change in your workplace. They will also have the opportunity to connect with other Young Professionals online and in-person through designated breakout and networking sessions,  learn from the experiences of local leaders, and participate in thoughtful dialogue with peers.

We have two in-person networking opportunities on June 22 & June 25 as part of our exciting Summit series! Our professional development sessions, at various times throughout June 23 and June 24, are virtual and cover a variety of topics: emotional intelligence, mental wellness, culture-building, managing up, organizational change, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

This is a great opportunity for you to show your younger workforce that you believe in their future; it’s a great way to connect them to other young professionals throughout Lancaster to aide in retaining them in our community through friendships; and, it’s a great way to build loyalty with our next generation leaders.

Please consider rewarding your young workers with this exceptional training opportunity. For more information and to register, click here!

For a broader opportunity, we are partnering with the Workforce Development Board to host Pop Up Job Fairs on June 15 and June 16. For more information, visit here.
