Below is a note from Tom Baldrige, President & CEO of the Lancaster Chamber, regarding the retirement of a team member.
It is with mixed emotions that we announce the retirement of Sandi Thompson, an almost 30-year veteran of the Lancaster Chamber and a person that has touched the lives of many.
Throughout her career with the Chamber, Sandi has worn many hats from her start with us in the old Private Industry Council program to her current role as Strategic Programs Manager. Sandi will end her service with the Chamber on Thursday, December 31.
During all her time with the Chamber, Sandi has been the consummate professional, a friend to all volunteers, a tireless worker, a stand-out member of the Chamber team and a constant champion for Lancaster County business. While her list of accomplishments is many, including leading the Excellence Exchange and Women in Business programs, spearheading professional development programming and managing the Chamber’s awards programs, her legacy in the Chamber is best represented by the leadership and passion she dedicated to launching and running the Chamber’s Mentorship Program, an initiative that has connected thousands of students to business mentors and, as such, changed the trajectory of many lives.
In addition to her unmatched work with the Chamber, Sandi has also managed to continuously give back to the Lancaster community through service with her church, her many years on the Board of the South Central Transit Authority, and other organizations.
While we are sorry to see Sandi leave, we are excited to celebrate the fact that she is exiting a career that has impacted many, generated many friends and earned her the respect of those that she worked with. We are also excited to note that we may not be seeing the last of Sandi as we work together to explore some post-COVID part-time work that would enable all of us to continue to benefit from her work and friendship.
Here’s to a job well done, Sandi Thompson! Thank you again and again for your service.
